Yes! 1002 km!!

I was having some doubts about the weather and work, but I’ve made it! I’m so happy 🙂 Finally, I have cycled 1,002 km this month and 1,205 km of total activities; not bad 🙂 🙂

I cycled back from work via the CR 105 road (also known as Vallée des Sept Chateaux – Valley of the Seven Castles). This route is amazing and I’m wondering why they don’t create a cycling route there; the car traffic is almost inexistent; I’ve been overtaken by only one car (plus a racing bike) along this road. In addition, the landscape is amazing and the way almost flat.

Since it’s a lovely route, let me share it on the map; I’ll try to share some pictures in the future (which should be read: if I do not forget about it, maybe one day, I’ll sort my photos and upload some).

No sweeties and cycling goal

I’ve been abusing of chocolate, candies and other sweeties for over a month; now that Easter is over, I’m going to fast for a week. I really feel I had too much; this also includes soft drinks.

Also, I’m trying to cycle 1,000 km this month and I need another 123 km until Wednesday to make it; and the weather forecast isn’t in my favour.  Fortunately my initial goal has been reached (1,000 km on foot or bike), but It would be icing on the cake :-). We’ll see how it goes.

Being on call sucks

Being on call means being stuck at home, near home, at work or near the office. Especially it’s the third weekend this month… However, I have found a way to ride my mountain bike and stay within acceptable distance in case of call.

I don’t know how long it’s going to take until I have enough doing such tours, but I have to admit that the shape on the map is interesting; maybe I should draw some pictures on the map.

I forgot to mention that I didn’t allow myself to ride multiple times on the same road segment. 🙂

Mango and Nutella spring rolls

Here’s a food experiment: spring rolls, with mango, Nutella and grilled almond.

Nutella spring rolls

In a few easy steps:

  1. Submerge the rice paper into water,
  2. Preheat the oven,
  3. Peel the mango then slice in into small cubes,
  4. Grill the almonds without any fat,
  5. Melt some butter,
  6. When everything is ready, start putting a few cubes into the rice paper, two tea cups of Nutella and add a thin layer of grilled almonds,
  7. Wrap the whole thing and spread butter around and put the rolls in the oven,
  8. After about 15 minutes, the rice paper will be crunchy and can be served.

Don’t try to put too much quantity into the roll like I did as the water inside the roll makes it more difficult to get something super crunchy. Even though the smell, taste and texture were tremendous 🙂

Cycling day

Randomly left home with the idea of going South. However I had no destination in mind until I thought about exploring a bit the Land of the Red Rocks (Terres Rouges).

At some point, the cycling route PC 8 stops and I’ve continued my way on hiking routes, which were tough but it was worth the effort.

Maybe I’ll manage to cycle 1,000 km this month 🙂
